What is Akshara
- Akshara was started by a team of self driven Aztecians in 1999 as a model project to provide midday meals at Govt. Model Primary School, Yediyur, Bangalore
- From a humble start of 4-5 volunteers, Akshara today has more than 100 volunteers. All the volunteers are employees of Aztecsoft.
- Akshara now supports five schools in and around Bangalore with
- Notebooks
- Uniforms
- Midday meals
- Infrastructural requirements
- Extra curricular activities
- Started a chapter of Akshara in Aztecsoft, Hyderabad
Akshara’s Impact
- Dropouts in the schools have decreased
- Number of enrolments have increased manifold
- Increase in pass percentage
- Increase in motivation level of the teachers and students
Future
- Reach out to more children and their schools
- Work with the schools to improve the quality of education (assessed by LGP of Azim Premji Foundation)
- Improve the infrastructure and teaching aids in the schools
Product Engineering in Education
Aztecsoft has partnered with Sree Jaya Chamarajendra college of Engineering (SJC), Mysore in drafting the M. Tech syllabus on Product Engineering .This course has been approved by Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum.
