WiFi Network Design and Development

Aztecsoft was approached by a leading Broadband over Power Lines (BPL) customer for designing
the last mile wireless access. The customer’s core competence was in transporting data over powerlines
and Aztecsoft pitched in with its wireless expertise to design a solution.
The solution included the setting up of a Network Operations Center (NOC) to provide AAA services
besides billing and monitoring. Features were added at the Layer 2/3 to the existing Atheros-based
routers and repeaters to provide and maintain the quality of VoIP calls.
The network was successfully trialed in India which resulted in deployments
in Indonesia and Vietnam being awarded to Aztecsoft.

VoIP Gateway integration with WiMAX SS

One of the leading WiMAX OEM companies approached us for integrating their fixed WiMAX SS with a
VoIP Gateway; the latter also supported a WiFi interface. The VoIP Gateway was sourced from a
Taiwanese manufacturer.
The two challenges the customer faced:
- Frequent upgrades to the VoIP Gateway resulted in constant integration efforts
- Extension of the SNMP-based NMS interface supported by the WiMAX SS to the HTTP-based interface provided by the VoIP Gateway.
We analyzed the two issues and designed an integration approach for (1) and a technical solution
for (2). We presented alternatives to the customer to address both the issues and implemented the
selected option. The customer was delighted with the elegant approach and has continued his
relationship with us for other development activities.
