Intellectual Property

By virtue of the nature of our core business, we attach paramount importance to safeguarding the IP of our clients. We have a security policy that is documented and implemented company-wide. This security policy ensures that our Clients' IP rights are protected.

The measures taken to prevent IP contamination can be broadly classified as relating to the following areas.

• Access controlled exclusive work area designated for project staff using key card
• Access to servers rooms highly restricted
Network access
• Network secured by Firewall, Intrusion detection
• Access restricted at all levels of the network
• Individual VLAN for each project for enhanced security
• FTP access restricted
Network connectivity
• We ensure significant levels of segregation of project-related material, Client IP, etc through physical isolation through customer network with the help of different VLANs
People
• 100% dedicated team
• External reviewers, if any, are not shared across similar projects
• If required, contractual obligations can be set to ensure that at exit from a project, the resource will not be deployed in a similar project for a minimum agreed period
• All employees execute NDA to cover IP and confidentiality issues
Process

• 

 

 PD SP – “Project Defined Software Process” is defined specifically for a customer and is only controlled by the project team and is not available to external teams
• SQA/SEPG is a non-technical group which does the external process review. We could even consider the review team not to have people reviewing similar projects
Artifacts

• 

 

 Aspects such as code, design documents, test plans and test cases are in project specific repositories/project specific configuration management systems
• This along with VLAN and dedicated people for projects ensure high level of IP protection
Knowledge
management

• 

 

 Company wide tech-talks and other knowledge dissemination activities do not cover project specific details. They address generic technology trends and challenges
• Tech-Talks / Workshops specific only to project teams are not made external
